Inclusion that matters: strategies that shift culture, not just policies

On-demand panel discussion | Available from 14th September 2026

Inclusion is easy to endorse in principle, and surprisingly hard to enact in practice. Too often, schools rely on policies, labels, and well-meaning statements, while the daily lived experience of pupils and staff tells a different story.

Chaired by Dr Helen Wright, this webinar brings together experienced, high-performing international school leaders to explore what inclusion that truly matters looks like: the mindsets, routines, teaching practices, and leadership decisions that reshape culture over time, especially when resources are constrained and expectations are high.

The discussion will surface what makes the biggest difference, what quietly undermines progress, and how leaders create environments in which every learner is known, supported, and challenged with dignity.

This panel discussion will cover:

  • What 'inclusion that matters' means in practice, and how to recognise culture change beyond policy compliance

  • Leading for high expectations in 'belonging' and 'mattering': the adult behaviours, classroom habits, and relational work that make this real

  • Systems that help rather than hinder: identification, support pathways, curriculum access, and the role of data and accountability

  • Sustaining inclusion over time: resourcing, staff capability, parent partnership, and the leadership choices that hold the line when tensions arise
