partners in emotional intelligence

2012 heralds the introduction of TES Prime and Packtypes launching a ground-breaking school emotional intelligence initiative in the UK

TES Prime, the largest network of teachers in the world, and Packtypes, leaders in applied emotional intelligence, have come together to  spearhead a national campaign to increase awareness of emotional intelligence amongst UK schools and provide those schools with exciting new ways to develop emotional intelligence.

TES Prime and Packtypes are collaborating to launch a whole school ‘EQi Benchmark’ for assesing the overall emotional intelligence of a school, an intensive ‘School Leadership EQ Healthcheck’ designed to help Heads review their schools' EQ leadership performance, and a one day ‘Introduction to Emotional Intelligence Workshop’ open to all school leaders.

The EQi Benchmark allows schools to determine how emotionally intelligent their school currently is and measure the progress they are making in developing an emotionally intelligent school.

The EQ Health check is designed to help Heads discover in a day what they might take years to find out in terms of their schools' EQ, and is applicable to new Heads and Heads looking to transform their school’s performance.

Duncan Verry, Director of TES Prime commented: ‘developing emotional intelligence, or EQ, can  often have more impact on a school than virtually any other aspect of school improvement. TES and Packtypes are coming together to help schools enjoy the benefits of increased EQ through enhanced leadership capacity, teaching expertise and classroom learning.’

Will Murray Founder and CEO of Packtypes said: ‘since we’ve been developing EQ in schools we have witnessed some exciting changes in leadership and teamwork as well as student self-awareness, self-esteem and confidence. We are really excited to be working with the TES to help schools use emotional intelligence to enhance pupil outcomes.’
